You’re watching your teen search for their own path—a process of discovery and often, insecurity.

Many parents come to us because their teen…

  • Struggles to make friends

  • Has lost motivation or interest in the things they used to love

  • Feels isolated and left out

  • Hates their parents or seems to be angry all the time—nothing they do feels right, and no matter how hard they try, their teen won’t open up or act like they care

  • Works so hard to be “perfect” and feel like they never measure up

  • Is constantly worried, anxious, and overwhelmed

  • Struggles with low self-esteem and insecurity, unsure of who they really are or where they fit in

You’ve come to the right place. We know how to help.

Adolescence is a complicated time filled with rapid changes in identity, emotions, and relationships. Teenagers can be difficult to understand because they are in the process of learning to understand themselves. And when they’re highly sensitive, prone to perfectionistic tendencies, or neurodivergent it can be even harder. Teens often face the challenge of balancing the need for independence with the desire for belonging—a period of growth that can feel both exciting and overwhelming.

As a parent, it’s hard to know how to make sense of it all yourself, especially when you’re trying to support their autonomy while showing your love and support. Even if you’ve had some successes, it still can feel like there’s one curveball after the next as you try to decode their behavior or the “right” way to do things. You know this is a season that won’t last forever, but it’s also not a time you want to wish away. There has to be a way to make it better, and you’re holding on to that belief for you and your teen.

Help your teen go from “I’m not good enough” to “I am enough.”

HOW THERAPY FOR CHILDREN WORKS

To understand your teen at a deeper level, we invite them into a warm, judgment-free environment where they can feel safe showing up as themselves—feelings, frustrations, dreams, and all.

Your child’s therapist will take the time to develop a sense of trust, by helping them feel accepted and validated in who they are and everything they’re feeling.

Depending on what your teen needs, we’ll use different techniques to help them manage difficult thoughts and keep moving forward—even when it feels tough. For example, we might use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help them accept challenging feelings and still take action toward what really matters to them.

Throughout this process, we’ll help them build self-awareness and emotional strength, so they can better understand their thoughts and reactions. Our approach is flexible and always adjusts to meet your teen’s needs, ensuring they feel supported as they face whatever comes their way.

Here’s how we can help your teen thrive:

We’re here to guide both you and your child through this process—you’re part of this journey, too.

We see your teenager for one small part of the week, but you’re with them every day. That’s why your involvement is so important to making the most of therapy. We’re on your side, committed to helping your teen develop the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to succeed.

We can help your TEEN…

Build self-acceptance and learn to love who they are.

Develop more flexible thinking and open-mindedness.

Find the courage to face their fears and challenges head-on.

Deepen their connection with you.

Feel empowered with a sense of agency and control over their choices.

Even though it can feel like a lifetime away, eventually, your teenager will become an adult.

By focusing on their unique strengths and helping them understand and embrace who they are, we can equip them with the skills they need to succeed not only in school, at home, and with friends, but for the rest of their lives. They are awesome just the way that they are—we just have to help them see it.
